Lisa Langseth (SE)

Director, screen- and scriptwriter. Born 1975 in Stockholm. Studied directing at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts 1999-2002.

Shortly after her studies, Lisa Langseth began her career as a playwright. In 2002, she wrote and directed the play Godkänd for Stockholm’s City Theatre. In 2005, the script was turned into a film of the same name. In 2004, her play Beloved (Den älskade), starring Noomi Rapace, premiered at Stockholm’s Royal Dramatic Theatre. Her breakthrough as a film director came with Pure (Till det som är vackert, 2010), starring a young Alicia Vikander. Vikander also starred in Langseths next feature Hotell (2013). Both movies received numerous Guldbagge Award nominations, including Best Screenplay.

Euphoria (2018) tells the story of Ines (Alicia Vikander) and Emilie (Eva Green), two sisters meeting up again after many years apart – and the profound journey that they undertake together. Euphoria marks the international debut for Langseth, it premiered at Toronto International Film Festival.
