Amanda Kernell (SE)

Director, screenwriter. Born in Umeå in 1986. Holds a degree in directing from the Film School of Denmark, 2009-2013.

Amanda Kernell made her debut with short Our Disco (Våra discon) in 2007, and has since directed several acclaimed shorts, one of them being Northern Great Mountain (Stoerre Vaerie, 2015) which was the pilot for Sami Blood and premiered at Sundance. Sami Blood is her first feature and had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and was also selected for both the Spotlight section in Sundance and the Discovery section in Toronto.
